Labor Day Weekend

Lilly had such an amazing weekend of firsts for Labor Day. On Sunday she had her first boat ride ever. We rode the ferry from Mackinaw City to the Island. She LOVED the boat, especially since water has been one of her words that she likes to say over and over again these past few weeks.

Once we got to the Island we decided to take the 8 mile bike ride around the outside of the island. We rode on Tandem bikes and had a cart behind ours for Lilly. The guy at the bike shop assured us that she would be asleep when we brought her back. Here she is SUPER excited before we started.

And yes..he was right. About a mile and a half into the ride she was asleep. She only slept for about 3 miles of it because we made some stops along the way that woke her up.

On Monday Lilly participated in the bridge walk. She didn't walk much of it, but did walk some. She was super slow when she was walking as she had to look around of course, so we ended up helping her most of the way. Of course she rode in the stroller NONE of the walk as she thought it was better to be carried!

Busy Weeks

Lillian has had a busy few weeks. She has been to Meijer Gardens and the zoo all in one week!!

Her favorite thing about Meijer Gardens is the "kids" entrance to the children's garden. They have a really cool gate that is just Lilly's size. She must've went in and out of this gate 20 times (and of course you have to close the door each time)

Lilly's favorite exhibit this time to the zoo was the new Meerkat exhibit. They run right up to the glass and Lilly loved watching them run around.

We got to get really close to the giraffes because the feeding section was closed that day. We had a blast at the zoo with mommy's friend Angie and her children! We hope to get together again soon!

Dressing Myself

One of Lilly's favorite games right now is to play dress up. She is able to get her head into shirts, but the arms still frustrate her. She can get her shorts on, but is unable to yet figure out how to pull them up.
For some reason lately whenever I get the camera out she closes her eyes so you have to deal with squinty pictures for a bit!

First Haircut

Lillian got her first "professional" haircut this weekend. I have cut her bangs twice, but the back of her hair was crazy and she would NOT keep pony tails in for more than 2 seconds. Lilly did a GREAT job and loved the Elmo video that they played while cutting her hair.

Reunion

We had a family reunion this weekend, and Lilly had a blast playing with her cousins...their toys were a blast! Her cousin Abby had a baby and a stroller and Lilly confiscated it for most of the day!

Makes a great seat for toddlers too apparently.

*On a side note..Lilly has successfully went "#2" in the potty twice now, and told me numerous times this weekend when she had to go potty. Unfortunately when we are away from home and don't have Lilly's potty. I'm not sure I'm ready to try out the big potty yet. Today though she told me when she had to go "Poo" and used the potty!!!

Lilly's Favorites

Here are some of Lilly's favorites right now. Sorry for the bad color on the pictures, the camera was almost out of batteries!


Lilly absolutely loves throwing toys for the "KEY" (kitty). Of course she still hasn't learned how to throw them for the kitty and not AT the kitty. Unfortunately Lilly knows where "key"'s toys are at so we often have all of the kitty toys out at once.

Lilly still loves all of her "babies". Just like her mommy did she loves any kind of stuffed animal. She is really working hard on telling us her animal sounds and can tell us a dog, cat, horse, and cow.

Lilly's most favorite thing this week has been to show me her babies nose, eyes, mouth, and belly. She still can't get the hang of ear, but we'll keep working on it!

New Truck and Waterpark

On Sunday we went to a waterpark that is right by our house. For those of you that live close it is in the Lower Huron Metropark and it is a BLAST! They have a lazy river, two waterslides (the adults had a great time on these), a pool, and then a playscape with a bucket that dumps water just for the little ones.
When we first got there Lilly wanted NOTHING to do with the water. She loves baths but has always been afraid of any pools, sprinklers, or any other type of water. We went with the hopes that she would enjoy herself and warm up to playing in the water. It worked!!! After about a 1/2 hour she warmed up and was sitting in the shallow end of the pool without anyone holding her (it was only up to her waist even when she was sitting). She really enjoyed playing with the water spouts in the kiddie area.

Thanks to cousin Alex for the fire truck. He wasn't using it anymore so he gave it to Lillian. She got to ride in it this weekend. Her feet are not long enough to touch the pedal, so right now mommy has to drive it. Believe it or not both of us in it are still below the max weight limit. It is designed to hold two people!!! Lilly's favorite part is the "phone" that is on the dashboard.

Still a little big for her, but fun still! She was having a good time steering while it was in park.
