The main reason we went to North Carolina was to meet Lilly's new cousin Gabriel Rollins. He is almost a month old already. Lilly didn't mind if mommy held him (she just wanted to hold her baby the same way that I was holding Gabe), but if daddy held him she got a bit jealous.

We also went to an aquarium. Lilly loved looking at the fish, especially when she could get up close and touch the glass. For some reason the fish in this tank kept swimming up to her hand.
On our last day there, we went to a zoo. It is a rescue zoo and the zookeeper came out and let Lilly interact with some of the animals! Here she got to "pet" a chicken.
Lilly loved the tortoise. She kept chasing him trying to touch his shell.
He also gave us some food to feed the goats. We had to help Lilly, but she loved it when they licked her hand.
This is the car ride home. Thankfully she didn't get sick like she did on the way down ( we learned to keep extra rags in the car). We think she got sick on the way down because she was watching the trees go by so quickly.
Last week we drove to North Carolina to see Lilly's Aunt Sarah and Uncle Kevin and her new cousin Gabriel. The first day we went to the ocean. The water was too cold, and scared Lilly, but she had a BLAST picking up shells and playing in the sand. We even got to see a jellyfish that washed up on the beach.
One day we went to play mini-golf and they had a swingset. I couldn't believe how well she did climbing up all by herself and sitting on top of the slide. She even knew how to kick her feet to slide down!

Lilly has now figured out how to "scoop" with the spoon. As you can see, things are still messy, but we are getting better!
We just noticed yesterday that Lilly is getting her bottom 1 yr molars. She has 4 teeth on top, but only the front two on the bottom so we were not expecting them yet. The right molar is almost all of the way through and the left is peeking. She is unfortunately miserable, as she has been with teething the whole way through!! Corn on the cob was a real treat though for sore teeth.
As always, our Lilly had a BLAST playing outside this weekend. On Sunday she was "helping " daddy to weed the flowers.
She loves to feed the birds with daddy. She is getting really good at holding the lid and then putting it back on once the feeder is full.
Lilly is really enjoying her Aqua Doodle Mat. As you can see from the super fast action shot she really likes to see just how fast she can draw lines on the mat. Lines are all that we get right now, but it is definately a start! 
She usually ends up sitting on the mat while drawing, so we are very thankful that it is a pretty large mat!
On monday we went to the zoo. Weekdays are a GREAT time to go in the afternoons because there was hardly anyone there, so we didn't have to fight anyone else to see the animals. Lilly really got excited when she saw the rhinos, I think they are so big that they were easy for her to spot them moving! Of course she had a blast because we were outside and she got to ride in her wagon.
